Thanks Vic. US intelligence head Mike McConnell says the Taliban now controls an estimated 10% of Afghanistan and they took most of it by force. In comparison the central government in Kabul controls 30%. Tribal chieftains rule the rest of the territory.

Scandinavian police have made multiple terror arrests. Swedish officers’ nabbed three people accused of getting ready to launch an attack as well as financing terror groups. Norwegian agents apprehended three other people also suspected of financing terrorists.

Columbian rebel group Farc has released another 4 hostages but concern is growing for the deteriorating health of kidnapped French Columbian politician Ingrid Bettencourt. Apparently she is gravely ill with recurrent Hepatitis B.

And Yahoo has been hit by 7 lawsuits from shareholders over the way it handled Microsoft’s recent takeover bid. The litigants aren’t taking issue with the fact that the $40 billion deal was rejected. They’re outraged Yahoo didn’t attempt to broker a better one.
