The Brazilian Navy has recovered a huge piece of the tail belonging to missing Air France flight 447. The tail fin or vertical stabilizer was remarkably in tact leading speculators to believe that the plane broke up in mid air. Both the US and France are contributing to the search for the aircrafts black box but as one French Navy official says the search won’t be easy. The power of emission of the black box is low so you have to come very close to the black box if you want to detect it. Air France announced today that it will update the sensor systems on all its airbus A330 and A340 models. Speed sensors are thought to be a contributing factor in the crash.

Welcome inside sports I’m Whitney St. John. Let’s start with the National Hockey League’s All Star festivities that took place in Montreal over the weekend and check this out, the actual game looked like players were really trying. It was competitive. Hallelujah. Someone finally got an All Star game right. This year’s edition even made it into overtime and then to a shoot out. The East beat the West 12-11 and both teams combined for more than 100 shots on goal. Montreal superstar Alex Kovalev took home MVP honors.

Over in baseball, LA Dodger’s manager Joe Tory is airing his dirty laundry in a new tell all book that’s due out next week.

What a crazy month it’s been for Penske driver Helio Castranevez. Just weeks after avoiding jail time on US tax evasion charges, the Brazilian playboy put on a brilliant driving performance to capture the Indianapolis 500. It was the third time Castranevez has won at the Brick Yard placing him just behind Indy legends Al Unser, AJ Foyt and Rick Meers with four apiece.

Hey everybody I’m Whitney St. John. Hope you had a great weekend. The sports world sure did especially the LA Lakers. They took on Orlando in five games to win their fifteenth MBA title. Coby Bryant led the purple and gold as they dominated the Magic 99-86. Game four turned the tide and this one broke Orlando’s back. It was great to see an aging superstar like Coby silence the last of his critics who said he couldn’t carry the load on his own. I’d say his fourth ring puts questions about his leadership to rest.

Turning to golf, Brian Gaye went wire to wire in the St. Jude classic.
